Born in Paris in 1972 and now living in New York, this French painter imagines massive figurative paintings mixing nature and contemporary life: he finds his inspiration as much from a scene on the street than from a photo on the cover of the New York Times. When he paints characters, they are nearly never alone: they’re often in a group, as if they were statically waiting for something. I love his choice of vivid colours, between fauvism and expressionism.
